Rodger M. Zimmerman

Rodger M. Zimmerman was born in San Marcos, Texas, on December 13, 1934, admitted to the Texas Bar in 1962, and admitted and licensed by the United States Supreme Court on March 20, 1972. He was also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts, both Western and Southern Districts of Texas. His preparatory Education was at Southwest Texas State University. He graduated with an LLB from the South Texas College of Law in 1962. He is a life member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He was a Charter and Past Board Member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, as of August 12, 1971.

Mr. Zimmerman is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and a Life Member of the Texas State Rifle Association. Mr. Zimmerman served his country in the United States Army and is a Life Member of the American Legion.

Mr. Zimmerman's practice was concentrated in the criminal defense area of the law, spending most of his time in trial work. He has tried several capital cases. His practice was concentrated mostly in the area of firearms violations in both Federal and State Courts. He has authored video lectures explaining the ownership, possession, transportation and/or carrying of firearms by ordinary citizens under the federal and state law. He is also the author of a true adventure book about hunting the Big Five in Africa.

Mr. Zimmerman and his wife Louise are hunters/conservationists and have hunted in Africa, India, Alaska, British Columbia, Canada, New Zealand and all across the United States. Mr. Zimmerman has won the coveted Shaw-Hunter trophy for the best animal taken in East Africa in 1971. Mr. Zimmerman has won the Grand Slam of Bill Fish off the Costa Rica coast with his son and law partner, Attorney Michael A. Zimmerman.
